Cowboys Left Tackle Tyrone Smith Could Be Out for a Few Weeks

 

Earlier this year, Dallas Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith suffered an injury during practice. His initial injury was reported as a hamstring tear, but after surgery, he was told that the torn tendon was actually an avulsion fracture in his left knee. The recovery will likely take a few more weeks, but Dallas management is optimistic about the future of their star player.

On Sunday, Jerry Jones announced that Smith would be practicing this week. The team will be taking a closer look at him after Week 10 before they put him back on the 53-man roster. That could mean some major changes to the Cowboys' offensive line.

For the moment, Tyler Smith is the team's left tackle, and he's played well. Despite his young age, he has made some impressive strides this season. In his first eight games, he has recorded five tackles and 0.5 sacks.
